All Saints Boxing Club in High Demand
Growing Stronger Every Week: Boxing for Body and Soul at All Saints
Since its launch on 17th March, All Saints Boxing Club has quickly become a hub of energy, fitness, and community, attracting up to 25 participants every Monday. Demand is so high that we are exploring the possibility of opening a second night each week.
The club is open to all ages, though we have welcomed children as young as 5, who often come with their parents. Teenagers, young adults, and local primary school students – some of whom discovered the club during a recent school mission retreat day at All Saints – also train together. Participants come from a variety of ages and backgrounds, and while not all are people of faith, they all know they are welcome.
More than just a place to train, the club is decorated with Catholic crucifixes, artwork, and faith-inspired imagery, offering a safe, supportive space where we reach out to disaffected and disconnected youth. Through boxing, we aim to show how discipline, perseverance, and respect can strengthen both body and soul.
As St Augustine reminds us:
“Take care of your body as if you were going to live forever, and your soul as if for eternity.”
In this holy season of Advent, All Saints Boxing Club is a timely reminder: just as training strengthens the body, prayer and reflection are the gym for the soul. Whether you want to get fit, make new friends, or explore your faith in a welcoming environment, there’s a place for you at All Saints.
Come and join us every Monday at 7pm – strengthen your body, nurture your soul, and start your Advent with purpose!
