All Saints Hosts Its First School Mission Retreat Day

We are working with local Catholic schools to offer All Saints Mission as an opportunity for chaplaincies, Religious Education departments, and school groups to hold outreach and INSET days. Our schools programme includes four key elements:

1. Gathering in Faith (Holy Mass or Prayer Service): The day begins in prayer and thanksgiving, inviting children, young people, and staff to encounter the Lord Jesus Christ and one another in a spirit of joy and openness.
2. Discovering Our Church (Guided Site Tour): Students explore the church and mission centre, learning about its history, sacred spaces, symbols, and the people who bring it to life.
3. Growing in Faith and Understanding (Catechetical Session): An interactive session on key themes of Christian belief or discipleship, helping students deepen their knowledge of faith and reflect on what it means in their own lives. Themes include Advent/Christmas, Lent, the Sacramental Programme, and transition days.
4. Church and Sport (Developing Christian Virtues): Through sport, children learn Christian virtues such as discipline, teamwork, respect, perseverance, and leadership – discovering how to live out their faith in action.

On Thursday, 6th November, we welcomed our first school group – over 180 children aged 7-11 to All Saints. The feedback from the Head of RE at Holy Cross Primary was overwhelmingly positive:

“Thank you for just how amazing yesterday was. The children and staff loved it. A few of the staff said how inspiring they found it, which is just fantastic! We would love to come back.”

We are delighted that Holy Cross Primary has already booked an INSET day in January, and we look forward to welcoming more schools in the future, continuing to inspire young hearts through faith, reflection, and community at All Saints Mission.
