Advent Carol Service
Brings Hope, Music, and Community Together
Last night, All Saints Church welcomed 80 people for our annual Advent Carol Service, from children to adults, including guests from other Christian denominations and many new faces.
The evening was filled with joyful music, as our talented ministry led the congregation through eleven carols, complemented by seven inspiring readings from the Prophet’s Isaiah and Micah, St Paul’s Letter to the Philippians, and St Luke’s Gospel.
Led by Fr Blaise Nsangou SCJ, the service included a reflection on hope and happiness, encouraging everyone to await the coming of Jesus Christ with joyful anticipation. Mary was also honoured as a guiding presence during this reflective season. Gary Stephens shared how the coming year will be blessed through the growing of All Saints Mission!
Afterwards, attendees enjoyed mince pies, mulled wine, tea, coffee, biscuits, cakes, and music, lingering to socialise. During this time, some young adults shared their personal faith testimonies in conversation, reflecting on recently coming to the faith – a heartening sign of the growing number of young people, particularly young men, returning to the Church.
One visitor wrote, “A really lovely Advent Carol Service and wonderful hospitality too! Thank you, a joy!” The evening truly reflected the spirit of community and shared faith, bringing together children, young adults, older members, and visitors from other denominations in song, reflection, and fellowship.
As Advent continues, we wish everyone a blessed remaining season, and a very happy Christmas and New Year.
